This Independents’ Day, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who chooses to shop, eat, drink, and spend time with our independent businesses. Your support helps keep our local community thriving and ensures Brewery Square remains a destination full of character, creativity, and opportunity.

Independents’ Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the businesses that give Brewery Square its unique personality. Our independent businesses create the welcoming atmosphere, personal service, and sense of community that make Brewery Square such a special destination.

Home to 25 independent businesses, Brewery Square is filled with passionate entrepreneurs, talented makers, and local experts who bring something different to every visit. Whether you’re meeting friends for coffee, enjoying a meal, browsing unique shops, treating yourself to a beauty appointment, or taking part in a fitness class, there’s an independent business ready to welcome you.

Why Shop Independent?

Supporting an independent business means much more than making a purchase. It means investing in local people who genuinely care about their customers and their community. Independent businesses often source locally, create local jobs, and provide the personalised service that keeps customers coming back time and time again.

Every coffee bought, every gift purchased, every haircut, workout, or meal enjoyed helps these businesses continue to thrive.

From independent cafés serving expertly crafted coffee to restaurants offering memorable dining experiences, Brewery Square is home to an incredible variety of local businesses.

Each independent business here has its own story, personality, and passion, making every visit to Brewery Square a little different.

This Independents’ Day, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who chooses to shop, eat, drink, and spend time with our independent businesses. Your support helps keep our local community thriving and ensures Brewery Square remains a destination full of character, creativity, and opportunity.

Next time you’re visiting, take a moment to discover somewhere new. You might just find your next favourite café, boutique, salon, or restaurant.

The 22-Door Rule – We did a bit of counting recently and the results are pretty wild, Over 22 of our businesses are fully dog friendly.

Just look for our dog friendly Stickers

Let’s not even get started on the Dog Play Cafe, MUTT Everything Dog and let’s be honest, they definitely like your four legged shadow more than they like us humans.

We know that for most people, a dog isn’t “just a pet.” They’re the reason you get out for a walk in the morning, they’re the heartbeat of the home. So why should you have to leave them behind when you want to go out? Next time you’re heading our way, don’t put the lead back on the hook. Bring them along.

Happy Hounds. Happy Humans. One destination.

For one afternoon only, the industrial backdrop of the Square becomes a living museum. We’re hosting a tribute to the golden age of motoring. In partnership with the Dorchester Classic Vehicle Club, we are filling the Square with a curated selection of automotive legends from the curvy lines of the 1960s to the bold, boxy muscle of the 70s.

More Than Just a Static Display

This is an invitation to look under the hood. Because this is a static show, the owners are right there alongside their pride and joy. This isn’t a “hands-in-pockets” kind of event, it’s a community gathering.

You could be a lifelong petrolhead who knows every nut and bolt, or you simply appreciate the timeless aesthetic of a vintage dashboard, this is your chance to connect. Grab a coffee from one of our independents, stroll the rows of polished paintwork, and chat with the people who spend their weekends keeping these legends on the road.

The Details:
