Brewery Square announces re-opening of non-essential retailers

Dorchester’s Brewery Square will see the re-opening of non-essential retailers next week, following Government advice that all non-essential stores can open from 15th June.

Loco Loves, Stems Florist, Gallery On The Square, Woods Furniture, Vinyl Van, Margo and Mya, Copper Street Brewery, Maxgate Properties, Gallery On The Square, Avenue Interiors, Situ Galleries and Dorset Hideaways are set to open their doors from week commencing 15 June 2020.  These retailers will join Seventh Seal, which continues operating its café part-time for takeaway coffees, and Hendover Cafe, as well as essential stores including Moorland Express, Touts Pharmacy and the Atrium Health Centre which have been open as usual throughout the lockdown period.

The following businesses will be reopening shortly after, from week commencing 22 June 2020 – Morrish and Banham, Joules, Jacqueline’s Pre-Loved Boutique, Wagamama, Costa Coffee and HOBBS.

The news comes following Brewery Square’s recent announcement of implementing new health and safety measures on site, to ensure the wellbeing of all shoppers, staff, and retailers. Brewery Square has been offering support to retailers by providing health and safety guidelines, as well as additional 2 metre distancing floor stickers and PPE equipment if needed.

Additional health and safety measures at the Square include newly placed sanitising stations, floor stickers in places where queuing is likely, and daily door handle cleaning. With visitor and staff wellbeing at front of mind, Brewery Square has also made the decision for fountains to remain switched off until next year.

Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager at Brewery Square, commented: “We’re pleased to see more of our retailers beginning to open their doors once again to the public, and will be working closely alongside them to ensure they feel supported throughout their re-opening process. Together, we look forward to welcoming shoppers back to Brewery Square to experience a safe, enjoyable day out.”

Retailer opening times will vary, so shoppers are advised to check the Brewery Square website at and retailers’ social media channels for up to date information.

Re-opening dates for all retailers at Brewery Square are being led by Government advice and may be subject to change. Restaurants are currently working to a different Government timetable, and more information about their re-opening plans will be provided in due course.
