You might already know her as Brewery Square’s very own Mad Hatter… but Charlotte is also our amazing Centre Manager! After a short break, she’s officially back in her role, and we couldn’t be happier to have her return.

To mark her return and our 18 years of Brewery Square celebrations later this year, we’ve collected Charlotte’s standout moments from right here at Brewery Square.

From unforgettable events to special moments with our community, she’s captured all the very best bits. 

Charlotte says: “Community spirit is one of the best bits of Brewery Square. I think back to 2020 and how amazing it was to see everyone come together during tough times. Businesses were providing the NHS with free food, residents were helping neighbours with their shopping and the community really rallied around to help one another. It’s that spirit that really makes the Square a community and a home. 

Our fantastic events calendar is another highlight. Easter is my favourite time of year, and I can’t wait to hop into this year’s celebrations… although who I’ll be dressed as this year is yet to be decided!  Some of my favourite Easter memories include welcoming Andy’s Dino Raps, Dr Ranj, and Mr Bloom, right here in Dorchester, and of course, dressing up as the Mad Hatter for our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. These community events are so wonderful for the families who visit us. 

Our 10th birthday bash was an exceptional celebration. With shops opening late, restaurants offering alfresco dining in the sunshine, open air theatre, and even distilling our own gin on the back of a mobile distillery, there have been so many special moments! This year marks 18 years of Brewery Square and we are planning our best birthday celebrations yet.

It’s also incredibly rewarding when new businesses choose Brewery Square as their home. Supporting local entrepreneurs as they open their doors for the first time is something truly worth celebrating. We’re proud to have such an amazing mix of independent businesses here for our community to enjoy and support.

And finally, we can’t not talk about Christmas! What’s not to love? Skating in the Square, the smell of mulled wine, and visitors enjoying festive shopping and dining. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.

We are incredibly proud to announce Willdoes as our official Charity of the Year for 2026.

If you live in Dorset, you’ve likely seen the Willdoes name. But beyond the logo is a powerful, heart-led mission to give young people the tools they need to navigate the world today. Growing up has never been more complex. Between the pressures of social media, the anxiety of the modern world, and the need for genuine connection, many of our local young people are struggling to find their feet. Willdoes steps in exactly where they are needed most.

Confidence Through Action

What makes Willdoes so special is their approach. They don’t just talk about mental wellbeing, they facilitate it through action. By introducing young people to sports, outdoor adventures, and community activities.

It’s about social inclusion in its truest form, making sure no young person in our area feels like they are facing the world alone.

Our partnership isn’t just a badge on our website. Throughout 2026, you will see Willdoes woven into the very fabric of our events calendar. Every major event at Brewery Square this year will be an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for this cause.

Dress code: All Out Christmas Merriment! We’re inviting all owners and their pups to go wild with festive jumpers and accessories. Dig out your favourite (or silliest!) knitwear, hats, tinsel and anything else that screams Christmas. Don’t worry! If your pup’s wardrobe is short on Christmas cheer, no need to fret, MUTT Everything Dog has furry festive outfits in a variety of styles!

Paws & Claus is dedicated to helping animals in need. We are proudly fundraising for Margaret Green Animal Rescue. Every wag, every festive jumper and every step taken helps support this amazing cause.

Join us for a wonderful parade on Saturday 13th December, 1pm – 3pm.

COMPETITION LINE UP & HOW TO ENTER:
It’s easy! Just turn up in the Square on the day. Report to the gazebo where you will be handed a competition number. Once you have your number, head to the fountain area to take part in the categories you would like to enter!

Brewery Square is thrilled to unveil a spook-tacular week of Halloween events, headlined by an audacious attempt to break the world record for the largest ghost gathering!

This celebration, aptly titled “Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun,” promises to be a hauntingly good time for families, friends and Halloween enthusiasts alike.

The highlight of the week is set for Thursday 31st October, when hundreds of costumed ghosts will converge in Brewery Square, aiming to break the current world record of 560 ghosts in one location. With the excitement building, Brewery Square is poised to make history with the largest gathering of ghosts ever recorded.

This record-breaking ghost gathering will fill the Square with an army of the undead, followed by a live band, dancing, entertainment and competitions.

The entire week leading up to the big day will be packed with a variety of eerie activities, ensuring there’s something for everyone with arts and crafts, workshops, circus skills and a ghost hunt
